They are also involved in inflammatory diseases and they also influence and control gene expression. The fatty acid derivatives have the potential for treatment and/or prevention of ophthalmic disorders, in particular retinal disorders such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, and ocular inflammatory diseases.
